Daniel Knauth represents employees and employers in a wide array of industries and in all aspects of employment law before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC, OSHA and the NYS Division of Human Rights. His practice includes litigating complex employment matters, class and collective actions, and single-plaintiff disputes involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, constructive discharge, whistle-blower and wage and hour violations.
Mr. Knauth has counseled employers of all sizes on a full range of labor and employment law matters, including issues under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act (“OWBPA”), the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) as well as claims under New York State and New York City law. He has conducted internal workplace investigations into harassment and discrimination claims. He has also advised employers on termination decisions, leaves of absence, accommodating disabilities, workplace privacy, employee handbooks and policies, employment agreements, severance agreements and independent contractor agreements.
Mr. Knauth received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1998, where he served as an articles and notes editor for the St. John’s Law Review and was selected as Best Advocate in several trial competitions. He received his B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1994. In addition, Mr. Knauth served in the United States Army from 1988 to 1991 with 1/67 Armor Battalion, 2nd A.D., and in the New York Army National Guard with 1/108(M) Infantry, 42nd I.D., from 1991 to 1996.
Mr. Knauth is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
